Born and raised in the city, the actor used to use places in the municipality - such as Campo de São Bento, the sidewalk of Praia de Icaraí, the edge of the Boa Viagem neighborhood - as the setting for his productions.

Niterói decrees three-day mourning in honor of Paulo Gustavo.
The mayor of Niterói, Axel Grael, decreed three days of mourning in the municipality due to the death of actor Paulo Gustavo, who was born there on October 30, 1978.
Passionate about the city, Paulo used it frequently as a stage in his plays and films. Residents of Niterói usually recognize her with ease in the features of the series "My mother is a play". There are the Campo de São Bento, the boardwalk of Praia de Icaraí and the coast of Boa Viagem, among other places.
Paulo lived for most of his life in Niterói, in neighborhoods like Icaraí and Santa Rosa, and also in Itaipu, in the Oceanic Region. The move to Rio de Janeiro took place only after the wedding with the doctor Thales Bretas.
The mayor studies the possibility of changing the name of Rua Coronel Moreira Cesar, to Rua Paulo Gustavo. A public consultation should be launched for the population of the municipality to decide on the change.
Fight of 53 days hospitalized
Paulo died this Tuesday (4), at the age of 42, victim of Covid.
Creator of Dona Hermínia and other unforgettable characters in the theater, on TV and in the cinema, he had been hospitalized since March 13 at the Hospital Copa Star, in Copacabana, in the South Zone of Rio (see more in the video below).

With an accessible style of humor, based on familiar and everyday scenes, Paulo Gustavo conquered Brazil and had a trajectory of enormous success, in productions such as the box office champion "My mother is a play: The movie" (2013), which yielded two continuations. Released in 2019, the most recent feature of the triology became the most public comedy in the history of national cinema.
Paulo Gustavo leaves her husband, Thales, and two small children, Gael and Romeu, as well as his father, Júlio Marcos, his sister, Juliana Amaral, and his mother, Déa Lúcia Amaral, who inspired the creation of Dona Hermínia.
During the actor's more than 50 days of hospitalization, the family shared the day-to-day treatment and made prayer requests.
